MoveInsure Security Policy
MoveInsure Safeguards Your Data
MoveInsure values the privacy and security of its customers’ data. Physical safeguards, procedural controls, and data access controls are in place to protect customer data from unauthorized access. MoveInsure continually monitors its systems to prevent unauthorized attempts at intrusion. To access features of MoveInsure’s website, such as issuing an on-line insurance policies and billing information, you will need to use a security enabled web browser, with 128-bit encryption installed.
MoveInsure uses 128-bit encryption and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), which is an encryption method, used for transmitting private information via the Internet and making sure that sensitive information is kept safe, helping to prevent phising attacks, identity theft and data compromise. SSL uses a private key to encrypt data that is transferred over the SSL connection. This protocol is a standard used by many websites when you submit confidential information, such as credit card numbers and other personal data. SSL creates a secure connection between your browser and our server. Addresses of web pages using an SSL connection start with https: instead of http: and most browsers also display an icon of a closed padlock when you visit a page using SSL.
SSL provides for server authentication, and makes it harder for fraudsters to pretend to be another server. In addition, SSL enables private communication capability by making conversations private. The encryption used by the SSL turns useful data, such as credit card numbers, addresses and other payment information, into useless bits of information. Random characters appear, and only the right recipient – one with the encryption key – can decode the messages. This means that you have a private communication channel. If someone else tries to intercept the information, it will appear to be useless.
Certain areas on MoveInsure’s website, such as claim submission, policy updates, and affiliate program are only available to MoveInsure policyholders or affiliates. They provide a private and secure environment to access policy and account information.
MoveInsure follows generally accepted industry standards to protect the Personal Information submitted to the Site, both during transmission and once we receive it. MoveInsure safeguards its physical records and electronic data to prevent unauthorized use of private information. While MoveInsure strives to apply and implement commercially accepted means to protect your Personal Information, there is no way to completely protect all information from identity theft, and purchasing on-line insurance is NOT and CANNOT be 100% secured and/or absolutely guaranteed. However, with secure sockets layer protection, the likelihood of information being stolen is dramatically decreased.
If you have any questions or comments about security or privacy regarding the Site, you can contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
We use the digital certificate services of VeriSign and security scans of McAffe so that you can be confident when you are doing business with MoveInsure.
