MoveInsure has simplified itemizing your Household Goods, Personal Effects, Motor Vehicles, and Watercraft to allow you to concentrate on other aspects of your move.

How it Works 

During the quote process for Full-Service and Half-Service Movers, you will be given the option to download and print a walk-around form that helps you list your belongings as you walk around your home before you itemize them online.  For your convenience, you can also download the walk-around form here.

1. For Full-Service Movers 

You will be asked to complete an online inventory list that displays different tabs, each of which represents a different room or category of items you intend to insure.

To scroll among the different tabs, click on the green arrows on either side of the tabs. 

To select a particular tab, click on it.  You will see a field of 20 rows, some of which have already been pre-filled with names of items that are commonly associated with that tab.

Please add the name, quantity, and amount for each item you wish to insure.  Feel free to edit any pre-filled item names you intend to insure.  You can skip or delete any pre-filled items you do not intend to insure.  

If you have more than 20 items to itemize for a particular tab, click on “Add Another Item” and a new row will appear.  You can add as many items as you like, so long as you do not exceed $500,000 in total shipment value.

Make sure you have itemized everything you want to insure before you proceed to payment.  Only items that appear in the Inventory Snapshot Summary will be insured.

2. For Half-Service Movers 

You will be asked whether you plan to pack your own belongings or have them professionally-packed by a third-party.  

If you decide to pack your own belongings, you will be asked to enter a lump sum replacement value for the ENTIRE value of your shipment.  Make sure to use our Minimum Value Calculator to avoid underinsuring your belongings.

If you decide to have your belongings professionally-packed by a third-party, you will be asked to complete an online inventory list as described above for Full-Service Movers. 

3. Vehicle Transport

You will be asked to enter the make, model, year (where applicable) and replacement value of each motor vehicle and/or watercraft you intend to insure.

Make sure to download, complete and print the accompanying Motor Vehicle/Watercraft Condition Report and hand it to your Vehicle Transport Provider prior to your move.
