THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW:

MOVING COMPANIES

  • Many moving companies that offer liability per lb Valuation fund and adjust their own claim payments, requiring you to rely on their unknown financials for claim settlement. Inherent conflicts of interest exist since these moving companies decide how much to pay you in case of a claim for damages that they themselves or others may have potentially caused.
  • MoveInsure offers proper INSURANCE coverage by insurance carriers rated A + or higher by A.M. Best, one of the highest ratings for financial strength and stability in the industry. Claim payments are assessed by an outside third party.
  • MoveInsure insurance carriers are subject to department of insurance regulations in every US state that protect the public from bad faith adjusting. Moving companies are NOT subject to such insurance regulations.
  • Even if you can support your belongings were stolen, damaged or lost, many moving companies require you to prove that their negligence resulted in the loss, placing a high burden of proof for you to meet. With MoveInsure, you merely have to prove loss or damaged occurred during your insured transit.
  • Certain act of god perils such as windstorm, flood, fire, smoke, hurricanes, landslides, and earthquake are excluded by most moving companies' liability coverage but are covered by MoveInsure.

HOMEOWNER/RENTER INSURANCE

  • Most homeowner/renter policies place various restrictions on coverage for personal contents during transit, often excluding breakage and capping coverage at 10% of the allotted amount assigned to personal contents inside the home, thereby leaving their customers underinsured.
  • Even if your homeowner/renter policy fully covered your move, you would still want to think twice before filing a claim under these types of policies as doing so may adversely affect your rating, insurance costs, and ability to maintain your homeowner/renter coverage in the future.

So now that you know a little more about why you should insure your move, the next question is an obvious one: Why MoveInsure?
